Matthew Burns, M.D., Ph.D.
Matthew R. Burns, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor in the department of neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine and a member of the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases.
Dr. Burns received his medical degree and doctorate degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. He completed a neurology residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center, and a movement disorders fellowship at the University of Florida.
Dr. Burns is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and sees patients with movement disorders including all forms of Parkinsonism and ataxia, as well as dementia. His research interests including the interaction between aging and neurodegenerative disorders, molecular mechanisms of ataxia, and novel therapies for these disorders.
