INFORM Clinical Research Database
A TOUR OF THE NORMAN FIXEL INSTITUTE FOR NEUROLOGICAL DISEASES AT UF HEALTH

Research Database
  • The INFORM research database is an IRB-approved databank and was a dream imagined by Dr. Kelly Foote and Dr. Michael Okun and later realized with the help and dedication of Chuck Jacobson.
  • The idea was to make every patient a potential clinical patient as well as a research patient.
  • The database now houses over 19,000 unique patients and hundreds of thousands of visits.
  • There is one rule governing the use of the data. It is open for use by any faculty or student as long as they are collaborating with one of the IRB-approved researchers.
  • The database has been the glue to bring together multidisciplinary and multidepartment research and also has driven millions of dollars of grant funding and contributed to nearly 1,000 research papers and abstracts.
