The Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at UF Health is excited to announce our first Huntington’s Disease Patient-Caregiver Symposium. It will be virtual on February 25 from 1 – 5 PM.

- The virtual doors will open at 12:50pm with welcome at 1pm. There will be a brief Question & Answer session between each presentation. Please utilize the Chat Box for the Q & A questions.

Daniel Claassen, MD, MS Division Chief, Behavioral and Cognitive Neurology Director, Vanderbilt University HDSA Center of Excellence Dr. Claassen is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, with subspecialty training in movement disorders and cognitive neuroscience. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by disruptions to cognition, behavior, and movement. |

Lee Kugelmann, MMSc, GC Ms. Kugelmann is a genetic counselor at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases. She received her Master’s degree in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling from Emory University’s Genetic Counseling Training Program. |

Allison Bartlett, Esq Allison is HDSA’s Manager of Disability Program and is a disability attorney who specializes in guiding people with rare, chronic conditions, like Huntington’s disease, through the complex Social Security disability system. Allison holds a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a B.A. in International Affairs from James Madison University. She is admitted to the Virginia Bar. |

Latrice Williams, MSW Latrice is a Social Worker at the UF Health Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases and helps coordinate the HDSA Center of Excellence and the Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Saint Leo University and her Master’s degree from Walden University. |
| 3:50 – 4:20PM | Supportive Therapies: Staying Active
Alison Kraus PT,DPT,NCS Alison Kraus graduated with a doctorate in physical therapy in 2013 from Ithaca College and a B.S. in Clinical Health Studies from Ithaca College in 2011. Alison was designated a Neurologic Certified Specialist in Physical Therapy in 2016 following her completion of the national board exam. Since completion of graduate school, she has worked in varying settings including acute care neurology, and outpatient neurology. |
